Happy Holidays

Rose and I have been very lucky over the past several weeks. While the weather here left thousands without power we never lost power. It snowed here yesterday which I'm sure was unwelcome by most of the city seeing as the cleanup from the ice storm was still in progress.

This is one of the cards that Rose designed for a client. She used markers for the drawing and then embellished with glitter.

We would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday, thanks for stopping by.

The card is blank inside for your own personal message. I have listed three sets of these cards with a portion of the proceeds from one set being donated to The Komen Foundation because we lost our grandmother to Breast Cancer, a portion of the proceeds from the second set being donated to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society because we lost our mother to Myeloma and a portion of the proceeds from the third set being donated to The Autism Society of America because Rose has autism.

This is a set of six A2 cards. Have a great day everybody, thanks for stopping by.

Although September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month we should do all that we can to bring awareness to this disease 365 days a year. If you do not know the signs and symptoms visit the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition for more information.

This is a card that I designed for a Survivor. If you would like to purchase Ovarian Cancer Awareness cards visit our website here. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to support Ovarian Cancer initiatives.

Card Of The Day

This is one of the cards I designed for an Ovarian Cancer Survivor. Ovarian Cancer is considered a silent killer of women because it is usually hard to detect in the early stages. In the US alone at least 22,000 women are diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer each year, of that 15,000 do not survive. September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, please do all that you can to bring awareness to this disease. The cards are not yet available on our website but we do have some on eBay and Cafepress.

Have a great day everybody, thanks for stopping by.

Card Of The Day

The image for this card is from an acrylic painting I did. The artwork is printed directly on 110# acid free card stock. All of our cards are available like this for those that prefer the classic card style. For years we have been asked to do this but I so loved the colored papers that I didn't want to change. We now have both so just let us know when you place your order which you would prefer. You can see a few of the images on the white stock in my Etsy shop.

Have a great day everybody, thanks for stopping by.

Card Of The Day

The image for this card is from a painting that I did several years ago. The original painting was done using acrylics on 16 x 20 canvas. It has turned out to be one of my most popular pieces. I have been asked to do several commissions based on this design. It has been on exhibit to raise awareness and funds for various causes including Cancer, Battered Women and a Rape Crisis Center. It was most recently exhibited at the Celebration Of Life and Art exhibit to raise funds for an art therapy program for cancer patients.

This card would be great for just about any occasion. It's blank inside for your own personal message. You could use it just to say hello or to send well wishes and words of encouragement. Or you can do what I have had a lot of people tell me they have done with our cards and put it in a frame.

Have a great day everybody, thanks for stopping by.

Card Of The Day

Someone sent me an email about a previous post. In it I stated that cards come with a complimentary envelope. The person asked "shouldn't the envelope be complimentary?". Well they were exactly right. What I meant to say is that the envelopes compliment the card stock. They are the same brand as the card stock but tan. Does that make sense? I certainly hope so. Please feel free to contact me anytime you have a question. I probably won't know the answer but feel free to ask nonetheless.

The artwork for this note card was done using foam padding and acrylic paint on paper. A print of the original art is mounted on red card stock. The card is blank inside for your own personal message.

Have a great day everybody, thanks for stopping by.

Card Of The Day

For as long as I can remember I have loved to draw and loved to send cards. But believe it or not it never occurred to me to put the two together. I used computer card programs or I purchased cards. I was always looking for something different. Then one day a friend asked me to design a card for her baby shower and I told her I wasn't sure I had any cute baby graphics. She said "draw something". Luckily she asked me well in advance. I drew the design with pastels and I was new to digital drawing but I did part of the coloring with a digital program. The hardest part for me was the paper. I searched high and low for papers, I didn't want white. I finally found this navy card stock. I found that the company that made the paper had different colors and I thought this would be just perfect. They also had envelopes in each color but I decided to go with the tan. It occurred to me that I could start a line of note cards featuring my art and I could choose colors from the line that complimented my artwork. The cards were a hit and I started Noteworthy Crafts shortly thereafter. That was seven years ago.

Well imagine my dismay when I found out recently that the line was being discontinued. What in the world am I going to do? I have to start the process of finding papers all over again and it will not be the same line. I have been calling distributors all over the country to see what papers they still have left. Most of them think I'm crazy but it won't be the same line without the paper. I know people like my art but they like the paper as well. So if anyone knows of someone that has Fox River Confetti paper please let me know.
