Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Card Of The Day!

Yesterday was not a really good day for me. Well, I take that back. I had a bad 20 minutes or so. I was in the drug store and got ready to check out and noticed the cashiers name was the same as my grammies and It brought tears to my eyes. She asked if I was ok and I was but I told her about my grandmother.

Her name was Elsile. I have only run into a couple of people with that name but I thought, "how ironic that I run into someone today." The day before the start of Breast Cancer Awareness month. "It must be some sort of sign," I thought.

Well I hope that she was letting me know that I am doing the right thing by raising awareness of Breast Cancer in her honor. She lost her battle on August 24, 1986.

You can find this card for sale in my Etsy shop or in my eBay Store with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Cancer initiatives.

Please do all you can this month and every month to support Breast Cancer Awareness. Have a great day everybody, thanks for stopping by.

Card Of The Day!

Fall is my favorite time of year! The temperature is just right and I love the color of the leaves. When I'm out and about I often pick up leaves and bring them home. I know that sounds crazy because there are plenty to pick up in my own driveway but I never seem to select those.

For this card I took three of those coveted leaves and scanned them. Then I added some filters in Photoshop. You can find this card for sale in my Etsy shop.

Have a great day everybody, thanks for stopping by.

Card Of The Day!

I didn't start making Ovarian Cancer Awareness cards until a few years ago. A survivor contacted me and asked me "Why does everyone create beautiful cards for Breast Cancer Awareness but never for Ovarian Cancer. Why don't you or anyone else create cards for Ovarian Cancer Awareness?"

I had never thought of it before. My life has been touched by Breast Cancer but not Ovarian Cancer so it never really occurred to me that I should create cards promoting Ovarian Cancer Awareness. She asked me to design cards and this is one of the cards I came up with. I ended up selling about 300 cards to a survivors group that she was a member of.

It's Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month so I'm asking all the women out there to please do all that you can to make yourself and those you care about aware of the signs and symptoms of Ovarian Cancer.

You can find this card for sale in my Etsy shop with a portion of the proceeds being donated to support cancer awareness.

Have a great day everybody, thanks for stopping by.
